Fountains

Three drops of water for a better use of it.

Cascading fountains are a surprising meeting point between object, sculpture and architecture. Can a fountain be called an object as it is not a subject to be handled ? Is it really sculpture as it has the function of providing water for all ? Does the fact that it is found in a public space make it architecture ? The fountain’s structure and its ambiguity intrigue me : graduated, with levels, often three tiered. It is on these increasing degrees that I based my work. Three gradual platforms where the water escapes ; three portions of water to drink in other ways ; quantities and forms which are suitable for an instinctive gesture.
